I took this position simply to get away from the next listed position.  I needed
to get away from the 12hr driving shifts that are required and the money that was once
there had dwindled away.  This position is stable and I only work 40hrs a week
so I can take a 2nd position.  Twice I've been
Driver of the Month.  Main educational benefit of this job:
-   If I didn't already know how to repair all parts of an automobile - I do now!
Las Vegas Strip Taxi Driver
Yellow-Checker-Star Taxi Cabs
and Desert Cab Co.
Talk about a wild ride - when I first took this position all the gentlemens clubs
where in a price war over who would pay the cabbies the most to get the most customers!
I could pick-up 5 guys and cash in on $300 in one ride, some cab drivers
where earning six figures. But like all dreams this all came to an end.
-   Learned and polished my people skills - with an average of (30) 10 min. rides a day
-   Never called in sick in 4 years
-   Never at fault in an accident
Self Employed R&D and Electronic Repair - Sole Proprietor Business Owner
Sams Electronics (took over my fathers business)
At the time I took over this business the big screen TV business was snow balling with many
brands having models that would break down after a couple years, sometimes a few months,
and with the cost of repairs far less than replacing, I mainly repaired big screen TV's
via a yellow pages ad.  In between calls I did some R&D on my own.  The business became
more and more unprofitable as manufacturers that once provided me work stopped assisting
me due to the fact I was a "home business" with no store front and I didn't feel that it
was a good decision at the time to expand.  Responsibilities included:
-   Multi-tasking with my cel phone the main business line
-   Pick-up at customers home asuring them while all the paper work was being signed
-   Bring TV (or usually just the chassis) to the shop to repair, sometimes order parts
-   Return TV to the customers and collect
Some R&D projects included:
-   Mastered the Parallax - Basic Stamp Microcontroller
-   Built Z-80 computer from components which included my own bios and operating system
-   Constructed X-Y Pen Plotter from components including metal frame, stepping motors and servo
-   Manufacturered music effect pedals which included making circuit boards
-   Became familiar with many programming languages
